
Understanding Your Syllabus
On the first day of class, you鈥檒l receive a course syllabus鈥攁n overview of what to expect during the semester, including assignments and the instructor鈥檚 expectations. Read your syllabus carefully and keep track of it! You鈥檙e responsible for knowing the class requirements.
In general, a syllabus will include the following information:
- The course description
- Assignments (including reading assignments, tests and project due dates)
- Grading policies
- How to reach your instructor
- Your instructor鈥檚 office hours
- Classroom expectations, including attendance and participation requirements
