Wellness & Counseling at Jefferson is free to all Jefferson students. We offer short-term,
individual mental health services either in-person or virtually. Wellness & Counseling
at Jefferson is currently in partnership with local institutions who support students
with their counseling needs.

Counseling Partners
Jefferson has a strong partnership with Spalding University鈥檚 Center for Behavioral
Health (CBH). CBH is a service provided by the training facility within the School
of Professional Psychology and provides comprehensive psychology evaluations, mental
health services, and interventions.
Counselor Bios
Megan Abrams is a Doctoral Practicum B student at Spalding University, School of Professional
Psychology. She aims to provide a safe space for all individuals through an inclusive
and empathetic framework. She has experience working with individuals struggling with
mood and anxiety concerns, ADHD, trauma, OCD, eating and body image concerns.
John Cromb is a first-year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology program at Spalding University,
having earned his Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology in Spring 2025. His clinical
interests are rooted in an integrated humanistic viewpoint, aimed at helping individuals
discover new versions of themselves and enhance their quality of life. He aims to
build on his prior experience and skill set by assisting students at JCTC in rediscovering
new and improved versions of themselves. Outside the clinic, John enjoys hiking, true
crime, and exploring the Louisville area.
Jillian Lange is a 3rd year Doctor of Psychology student within Spalding University鈥檚 School of
Professional Psychology. As a clinician, she seeks to provide patients with a safe
space to talk, feel heard, and take the time to process and validate emotions that
they may not otherwise have time to acknowledge in the rush to meet expectations in
their daily lives. Outside of the office, Jillian enjoys reading, running, hiking,
skiing, and checking out new restaurants around Louisville.
Caroline Smith is a fourth-year doctoral student at Spalding University鈥檚 School of Professional
Psychology. She is passionate about using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support
individuals with trauma histories and has experience working with diverse populations,
including the LGBTQIA+ community.
Jefferson has an enhanced partnership with the University of Louisville's Kent School
of Social Work & Family Sciences. This partnership includes mental health services
for one-on-one, group, couple, or families and programming.
Counselor Bios
Alise Farrell is currently pursuing a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of
Louisville. She holds Bachelors degree in Child and Family Studies and is passionate
about advocating for clients and empowering them with the tools they need to advocate
for themselves. In her spare time, Alise enjoys relaxing by playing Animal Crossing
or watching her favorite comfort shows.
April True is a Louisville native who is currently a graduate student in the Masters of Couple鈥檚
and Family Therapy program at the University of Louisville. After earning her B.S.
in Psychology in 2019, April spent one year as a youth counselor at Maryhurst. She
then moved on to become a crisis counselor, which she has now done for the past four
years. She looks forward to the continued advancement and experiences that she will
gain working with the students of JCTC. In her spare time, April enjoys thrift shopping,
baking, cooking, and spending time with her three-year-old daughter.
Abby Waddell is a first-year master's student in the University of Louisville's Couple and Family
Therapy program. Abby graduated in May 2025 with a B.S. in Psychology, a minor in
Women and Gender Studies, as well as a certificate in LGBTQ Health Studies. As someone
who has personally experienced the many benefits of college campus mental health resources,
Abby is very grateful to be joining Wellness & Counseling at Jefferson and provide
such support for others!
Jefferson has a newly developed partnership with Ivy Tech - Sellersburg Human Services
Program. This partnership includes mental health services, interventions, and programming.
